Nancy L. Reel, age 75, of Worthington, passed away at 6:10 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015, at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born in Cass on December 29, 1939, the daughter of Leon & Mabel (Nusbaum) Alumbaugh. She worked as a teacher's aide in the first grade at Worthington Elementary School for many years, and retired from Reel & Sons Feed & Grain Store in Worthington. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Howard Reel, of Worthington, a daughter, Julie (Randy) Collins of Linton, a son, Craig (Kelly) Reel of Worthington, six grandchildren, Dustin (Cassie) Collins, Alisha (Mario) Armenta, Ashton (Stephen) Ison, Christopher Reel, Andy Reel, and Alex Reel, four great-grandchildren, Alex, Mackenzie, Maycee, and Felix, two nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Douglas Joe Reel on May 25, 2002, and a brother, Billy Joe Alumbaugh. Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, Pastors Danny Holtsclaw and Harold Crenshaw officiating. Burial will follow in Worthington Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m., and Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.welchcornett.com.

A Shakamak fifth grader recently became a published artist when her drawing of a giraffe was featured in an issue of Creative Kids magazine. Jaycie Stone, the daughter of Jeremy and Lacey Stone of Jasonville and a student in Chip Sweet's fifth grade class at Shakamak Elementary, had her artwork submitted to the publication by librarian Connie Burke.....
