Two rural Bloomfield residents sent to the hospital after a one-vehicle crash Monday afternoon near Solsberry.
Indiana State Police say Chad Mobley's 2008 Volkswagen disregarded a double yellow line when he attempted to pass another vehicle driving up a hill on State Road 43, south of Wagner Road, about 3:20 p.m.
When Mobley's car approached the top of the hill, he noticed a car heading towards him coming from the other direction.
"Mobley was able to avoid the oncoming traffic, but lost control of his vehicle in doing so, leaving the roadway and striking a utility pole," according to Indiana State Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Curt Durnil.
Chad Mobley, 29, and his wife, Rebecca Mobely, who was a passenger, both complained of pain and were transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment, according to Durnil.
The vehicle was totaled.
